Publication date: 3rd May 2018

In response to the speech given by new VW Group CEO Herbert Diess at its annual general meeting this morning, Mel Evans, clean air campaigner at Greenpeace, said:

“If VW wants to regain its reputation as a peoples car it has to start putting people first. Diesel might be profitable in the short term, but it’s bad for people’s health and the climate.

VW’s apologies and its promises aren’t credible while it keeps stubbornly clinging on to dirty diesel.”
