March of the Polar Bears

This December, world leaders will gather in Paris for COP 21 - a global climate conference convened by the United Nations. As these global leaders sit down to negotiate about climate change, people like you will be gathering together around the world to stand up for the climate - join us in London on Sunday 29th November!

These high-level talks, involving nearly 200 countries, will hopefully play a significant role in getting meaningful, global action on climate change. We can't all make it to Paris but demonstrations will be happening around the world, including in the UK. On Sunday 29th November, we'll be coming together with organisations and individuals from across the country to show Prime Minister David Cameron that we want firm action on climate change.

We want to make sure that when Cameron sits down at the negotiating table in Paris, he's got the image of thousands of people marching for the climate through the streets of London on his mind.

Greenpeace will be joining the People's March for Climate Justice and Jobs in London alongside a whole range of organisations - and we'd love you to come too.

Whether this is your first march or your 50th, this is a chance to join with fellow Greenpeace supporters to stand up for strong and meaningful action on climate change. We'll be joining the main event with the 'March of the Polar Bears' - a carnival of music, puppets and paw prints. And of course a whole load of polar bears* - a symbol of all that we want to protect.

There'll be bands, speeches, costumes and of course, a few creative surprises - but most importantly, I hope you'll be there!

Last year, hundreds of thousands of people joined marches in major cities as part of the People's Climate March. This year, on the eve of these crucial climate talks, we need as many people as possible to come together and show that we care.

To find out how to join the Greenpeace bloc, sign up to the events on Facebook or Greenwire. We'll be posting details of where to meet, what to bring and how you can get more involved. Also watch out for ways you can get involved even if you can't make it to the march in London.

Cardiff and Edinburgh will be marching on Saturday 28 November - find out more about meeting points and the details of the route here and here.

If there's a march happening in your local area, please share the details in the comments below!

*Not real polar bears. Obviously :)
