On Friday 20 May, North Yorkshire County Council will be deciding whether to approve fracking firm Third Energy's bid to drill in Ryedale, Yorkshire. With days to go before the council decision is made, people us from across Yorkshire - and around the UK - will gather for a rally outside county hall in Northallerton.

Take a look below for more information about what's happening on the day.

Location: Meeting for the rally outside North Yorkshire County Hall in Northallerton. The postcode is DL7 8AD

What will happen on the day:
9:00: Assemble outside the Council to present objections and petitions to Councillors as they enter County Hall

10:00–13:00: Rally against fracking outside North Yorkshire County Hall and during the breaks in proceedings, hear from local and national speakers. Listen to the proceedings live and join in with activities, entertainment, music and refreshments throughout the day while we wait for the decision.

Arriving by train: Best way to travel is by train which is about 20 minutes from York and then two minutes walk from Northallerton train station.

Arriving by car: If you're coming by car, the County Hall car park is likely to be full, so the best place to park is the railway station car park (big one on the opposite side of the tracks from County Hall) or the Applegarth car park in the centre of town (about ten minutes walk).

RSVP on Facebook: If you're on Facebook you can register to attend the event here. Please note that registration isn't essential, but will help the organisers get an idea of the number of people who'll be there on the day.

If you can't make it to the rally, leave a message of support in the comments below. We'll pass your messages on to people in Ryedale who've been working tirelessly to keep the fracking industry at bay.
